Halfway There - and It's Already Something Special

Dining Hall Renovation Update

If you’ve ever belted out “Don’t Stop Believin’” on a long car ride to camp, you already know—great things are worth the journey. And right now, our dining hall renovation is hitting that perfect note: we’re halfway there, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s taking shape.

From the moment you walk in, it feels different. Brighter. Bigger. Full of possibility.

One of the most talked-about features so far? The windows. Natural light is pouring in, bringing the outdoors right into the heart of camp. As one returning teacher shared during a recent visit:

“The windows are incredible—it feels like you’re still outside, even when you’re inside. And the ceiling—it’s so tall! The whole space just feels open and welcoming.”

That sense of openness is exactly what we were hoping for—a place where students, teachers, and families can gather, connect, and recharge together. Whether it’s breakfast before a full day of exploration or a lively evening filled with laughter, this space is being built for community.

And while there’s still work ahead, the progress so far has been energizing for everyone involved. Our Associate Executive Director, Jennie Griffin, summed it up best:

“We’re really pleased with how everything is coming together. You can already see the impact this space is going to have, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going.”

We feel it too. Every beam, every pane of glass, every step forward is bringing us closer to something truly special.

So yes—we’re halfway there. And if this is what halfway looks like, just wait until you see what’s next.

Stay tuned… the best is yet to come.
