Volunteering at Camp

Give your time. Grow your impact. Strengthen our camp community.

Together, We Make Camp Stronger

At Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, volunteers bring camp to life. Whether you’re planting trees, welcoming families, or helping campers discover new skills, your time makes a lasting difference. Every act of service—big or small—helps us build a community rooted in honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.

Volunteer Work Weekend

November 15-16, 2025 | FREE

Spend a meaningful weekend giving back at Fairview Lake YMCA Camps! From Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, volunteers will join together to help with important projects around camp, including painting and beautification, trail maintenance, organizing, and other worthwhile pursuits that keep our camp thriving.

We’ll provide comfortable housing and delicious meals—lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday—so you can focus on working hard, connecting with others, and making a difference. Whether you’re a longtime camper, alumni, family, or friend of Fairview, your time and energy will help ensure camp continues to be a place of wonder, growth, and adventure for generations to come.

FairviewFest Holiday Market

November 22-23, 2025

Help us spread holiday cheer at FairviewFest! Volunteers assist with set-up, parking and check-in, supporting program areas, and capturing the fun through photography. Your helping hands keep this festive weekend running smoothly for all our guests.

Tree Lighting Celebration

December 5, 2025

Join us for one of Fairview Lake’s most joyful traditions! We’re looking for volunteer “elves” to help with activities, decorations, photography, and clean-up. Bring your holiday spirit, and help us light up the night with community and cheer.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Not seeing a specific event that fits your schedule? We’d still love to have you join us! Our team will help match your interests with opportunities around camp.

Split Wood/Collect Kindling:

We go through a lot of wood during the year and want to make sure we keep the s’mores flowing! Help us keep our members cozy and warm any time of year.

(Year-Round)

Lake Maintenance:

We love to keep Fairview Lake looking beautiful and sometimes we need to remove some unwanted plant matter or maintain our new floating wetlands.

(Spring & Summer)

Trail Maintenance:

Help us maintain Fairview Lake’s many trails. We often need help cutting back brush, Identify or remove large fallen logs, make the paths clear, marking the trails and more.

(Spring & Fall)

Office Assistance/File Clean Up:

Running a summer camp comes with a lot of paperwork. Scanning and uploading files, sorting and processing forms, and more await a organized volunteer!

(May-August)

Program Area Assistant:

Work alongside a Fairview Lake staff member to help lead activities in areas like archery, boating, arts & crafts, or nature exploration. It’s a great way to share your enthusiasm, support campers and guests, and experience the joy of camp from a new perspective.

Y For All

Financial Assistance

The YMCA provides financial assistance to those who may require help covering the costs of camp. Our Y for All Fund plays a crucial role in keeping the Y accessible for children, adults, and families who need support. By offering financial assistance, the Y ensures that all individuals and families can participate in Y programs and services, regardless of their financial circumstances.
